Jumpsuit Size Chart (Bust, Waist, Hip & Torso)

A jumpsuit is the trickiest garment to size because one piece has to fit your bust, waist, hip, and torso length all at once. The chart below covers the three body measurements — but for a one-piece, your height is just as important.

    Notes

Size to your largest measurement. A jumpsuit can't be taken in three places at once, so pick the size that fits your fullest measurement — usually bust or hip — and have the rest tailored if needed. Sizing to your waist alone is the most common jumpsuit-fit mistake.

Check the torso length against your height. The crotch-to-shoulder 'torso' length is what pulls uncomfortably if a jumpsuit is too short for you. Petite (under 5'4") and tall (over 5'9") shoppers should look for petite/tall cuts rather than relying on the standard length.

Stretch changes everything. A woven, non-stretch jumpsuit needs to fit your body measurements exactly; a jersey or stretch-blend one is far more forgiving. Read the fabric first — it decides how strictly you follow the chart.

    FAQs

    How should a jumpsuit fit?

It should fit your bust and hips without straining, sit comfortably at the waist, and have enough torso length that it doesn't pull between the crotch and shoulders when you stand or sit. Size to your fullest measurement and tailor the rest.

    Do jumpsuits run small?

Many run small through the hips and short in the torso, so taller and curvier shoppers often size up or choose tall cuts. Check both the hip measurement and the torso length before ordering.

How do I measure for a jumpsuit?

Measure bust, waist, and hip at their fullest points, plus your height and (if listed) your shoulder-to-crotch length. Match the largest body measurement to the chart, and confirm the torso length suits your height.
