Frequently Asked Questions
Do I size by waist or hip for a skirt?
Pencil and bodycon — by hip. A-line, flared, and circle skirts — by waist. Midi pencil with stretch — by waist if your hip is within 1 size, otherwise by hip.
How long is a midi skirt?
Mid-calf, typically 27–32 inches measured from the waistband. Maxi is ankle-length (35"+), mini is above the knee (under 22").
Should I size up if my hip is between two skirt sizes?
For pencil skirts, size up. The hip has to clear; the waist can be tailored in. For A-line, size to waist.
What if my waist puts me in S but my hip puts me in L?
Order the L for pencil/bodycon and have the waist taken in (cheap alteration). For A-line, order S — the skirt flares away from the hip.
