How Brazilian Clothing Sizing Works
Brazilian apparel uses two systems. Women: 36-50 numeric (fitted) or P/M/G/GG letters (relaxed). Men: P/M/G/GG/EG/XEG. Brazilian-cut bottoms run smaller and have less coverage.
The Chart
| BR Women Numeric | BR Letter | US Equivalent | Bust (cm) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 36 | PP | XS | 82 |
| 38 | P | S | 86 |
| 40 | P | S/M | 90 |
| 42 | M | M | 94 |
| 44 | M | M/L | 98 |
| 46 | G | L | 102 |
| 48 | G | L/XL | 106 |
| 50 | GG | XL | 110 |
Notes
Brazilian-cut signature: shorter rise, smaller cut, less coverage. Brazilian bikini brands typically run 1-2 US sizes smaller than the labeled BR size when sold internationally. Always check cm measurements before ordering.
FAQs
What does PP mean?
Pequeno-Pequeno (extra small / XS in Spanish/Portuguese). PP < P < M < G < GG < EG (Extra Grande) < XEG (Extra-extra grande). Same letters used across Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Portugal.
Brazilian denim differs?
Yes, signature high-rise + tight cut + push-up shape (denim is engineered for the silhouette). Brazilian sizes 36-50 in jeans don't directly translate to US W-inch sizing — fit is fundamentally different. Try-on essential.
