    Discount codes — pushy?

    Light touch works. 'If you'd like to try again, here's 15% off' = optional offer. 'Buy something now!' = pushy. Tone matters.

    Always apologize?

    Once is good. Excessive apology feels weak + invites complaint. 'Sorry it didn't work out' is enough.
