Women's to Men's Shoe Size Conversion
Women's US shoe size = Men's + 1.5 (US 8 women = US 6.5 men). Width also differs: women's narrower at heel.

Why women's = men's + 1.5?
Historical lasts (foot molds) were sized differently for women and men. The 1.5 offset is a US-specific convention. EU and JP use unified gender-neutral sizing where the same number means the same length.
Why does this matter?
Many sneakers sold as 'men's only' (e.g., limited-edition Air Jordans) — women shoppers convert to find their size. Same for 'women's only' colorways. Unisex skate shoes also use this conversion.
