A tracksuit is a matched jacket and bottoms, so you size the top by chest and the bottoms by waist. When a set is sold as one size (S–XXL), that size has to work for both — here's how to check it does.

Size the set to your chest. When a tracksuit is sold as a single size, the jacket (chest) is usually the harder piece to fit, so size to your chest. The bottoms have an elastic waist that absorbs a range, so they'll follow more easily.
Allow a little layering room in the jacket. Track jackets are often worn over a tee or hoodie, so a touch of room in the chest is fine — but don't oversize, or the shoulders drop and the whole set looks sloppy.
Buy separates if your top and bottom differ. If your chest and waist point to different sizes, look for brands that sell the jacket and bottoms separately. Forcing one size onto a mismatched build is the usual reason a set fits one half well and the other poorly.
