Riding pants have a pre-formed knee bend. Knee armor pockets MUST align with your knee — off by 1+ inch and the armor lands on your shin or thigh in a fall.
Helmet
Motorcycle helmets fit snugger than bike or ski helmets. Cheek pads should compress slightly when new.

Snug fit — leather stretches 0.25-0.5 inch with use. Loss of clutch/throttle feel = too loose.
Boots
Foot length matters; ankle support matters more. Always over-the-ankle minimum. Tall riding boots also need calf circumference. Sneakers don't qualify as protection — peg impact and slide friction destroy non-rated footwear.
